BSE to help reinvigorate an old stomping ground

Posted on by admin

BSE has now been appointed all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire and ecologically sustainable development (ESD) design, documentation and site attendance on the Dural Hotel (formerly the Vicar of Wakefield and before that, the Sunset Hotel).

The re-energising of the site involves a complete removal and remodel of the existing centre of the building, not only dramatically increasing the amenity of the building, but bringing it into the 21st century by including ESD design to save power and water consumption and provide air quality as required by current design standards to all entertainment and eating areas.

The introduction of new air conditioning systems, water capture and reuse as well as photovoltaic systems are to be used to provide a modern and efficiently functioning hotel that can once again be the focal point of the local community.

This will help reinstate the glory of its past where John Williamson, Cold Chisel, John Swan (brother of Jimmy Barnes) and Pat Drummond, have played.

The revised hotel will supply the local community with a long lost link to the past – bringing back great entertainment while offering a new outdoor setting, wine bar and eating facilities.
