Space Solved in Springvale

BSE Principal Andrew Fraser will attend the opening of new IKEA/Harvey Norman development in Springvale, Victoria on the 8th September 2011 to celebrate the achievement of a milestone in retailing – a new space of 100,000m2.
In this era of change in retailing, BSE has provided technical expertise for this new store to ensure that IKEA remains at the forefront. We have provided services to achieve both IKEA’s corporate requirements and community expectations.
IKEA’s sphere of operation is worldwide. All new stores and their services have to be of the highest quality and efficiency to achieve current expectations and remain relevant and beneficial in future years.BSE has met this challenge for this store.
BSE has completed mechanical, hydraulic, fire and ecologically sustainable development (ESD) services for the Springvale store, the largest in the southern hemisphere with over 60 different room settings and a market hall which covers almost 7000m2.
IKEA’s overall philosophy is to use renewable and recyclable materials in its products. This approach is also incorporated in their buildings. BSE contributed to these aims with high efficient air conditioning including chilled beams and thermal storage using anticipatory requirements. Hydraulic services including water harvesting for reuse in and around the building also significantly contributes. As the ESD consultants, BSE coordinated IKEA’s low energy requirements. We ensured the successful completion of the project across all disciplines.
