Overview
Supporting Homes Across New South Wales
Increasing housing supply remains a significant focus across New South Wales. Homes NSW, formerly the NSW Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC), is responsible for actively managing housing for people in need throughout the community and oversees the largest housing portfolio in Australia, with more than 125,000 properties.
Over many years, BSE has partnered directly with Homes NSW and principal designers to support the delivery of social and affordable housing developments throughout metropolitan and regional New South Wales.
Projects have been delivered across locations including Airds, Claymore, Panania, Revesby, Canley Heights, Pagewood, Telopea, Griffith, Goulburn, North Richmond, Parramatta, Kingsgrove, and Fairfield, reflecting the breadth of communities supported through the program.

Our Role
Engineering Support Across Diverse Housing Projects
Depending on project requirements, BSE has provided mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire protection, sustainability, acoustics, and vertical transportation services across a range of Homes NSW projects.
For example, at a two-storey seniors housing development comprising 18 units across 1–3 Carson Street, Panania and 33–35 Paten Street, Revesby, BSE is providing acoustic services from design through to construction and certification. The work includes environmental noise assessments, acoustic design reviews, compliance certification, and coordination with architectural and building services teams to support the project’s acoustic objectives.
Some of our typical projects to date include:
- Carson Street, Panania and Paten Street, Revesby – 18 seniors housing units
- Riverside Drive, Airds – 32 seniors housing units
- Prout Way, Claymore – 45 seniors housing units
- Dobell Road, Claymore – 20 seniors housing units
- Cammarlie Street, Panania – 22 housing units and 6 2-storey townhouses
- Mcllvenie and Byrd Street, Canley Heights – 17 townhouses

Outcomes
Delivering Housing Where It Is Needed Most
In 1942, the NSW Housing Commission was established to provide a pathway to home ownership for working-class families and returned service personnel. Today, demand for social, crisis, transitional, and affordable housing continues to outstrip supply.
Through its ongoing involvement with Homes NSW, BSE has contributed to the delivery of housing projects across a diverse range of communities throughout New South Wales. The portfolio reflects a variety of housing typologies and project scales, with engineering solutions tailored to the specific requirements of each site and community.
“I am thrilled that BSE is providing services for the NSW housing development program contributing to positive community development and it’s a privilege to collaborate and make a meaningful impact together with all of the project stakeholders.”
– Director – NSW
BSE is proud to continue supporting Homes NSW through the delivery of housing projects that strengthen communities and provide long-term social and affordable housing outcomes across New South Wales.
