BSE’s Ken Loh, Associate Director – VIC, and Robert Holman, National Team Leader – Vertical Transportation, recently attended the TEFMA Conference 2025.
The conference supports TEFMA’s purpose of guiding and influencing the transformation of the higher education built environment. This year, the event featured exciting talks by Dylan Alcott AO, Tim Jarvis AM, and Winitha Bonney OAM.
Ken Loh shared his insights from the experience:
“It’s been an impactful few days at #TEFMA25. Joined by my Brisbane colleague Robert Holman, we connected with clients from universities across Australia and New Zealand. The conference kicked off with an impressive line-up of Vice Chancellors from The University of Queensland, QUT (Queensland University of Technology), and Griffith University. From the concurrent sessions, we gained insights into exciting projects, lessons learned, and successful outcomes. Presentations from overseas organisations such as HEFMA, AUDE, and APPA reminded us that we are not alone in facing similar challenges globally. In fact, we have much to be grateful for in Australia.
I was particularly inspired by Tim Jarvis AM, environmental scientist and renowned explorer. His Antarctic expedition is a testament to human resilience and offers lessons for modern-day leadership. (I even bought his book!)
Reconnecting with colleagues across the sector makes this conference a worthwhile investment of time and resources. For those of us passionate about contributing to this significant sector, it is rewarding in many varied ways. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next TEFMA Conference in Melbourne in 2026!"
Sounds like an incredible few days of learning, networking, and inspiration! Thank you, Ken and Robert, for representing #TeamBSE.
