Supporting Regional Rail Infrastructure Across Victoria
BSE has supported Kinsley Group in the delivery of a range of V/Line rail infrastructure upgrades across Victoria, contributing to improvements in safety, operational efficiency, and passenger amenity across multiple regional facilities.
The works span stabling yards, maintenance facilities, station upgrades, and specialist signalling and communications buildings, demonstrating BSE’s capability in delivering coordinated building services solutions across diverse rail environments.
Our Role
Building Services Design Across Multiple Rail Projects
BSE provides electrical, mechanical, and lighting design services across a range of V/Line upgrade projects, delivering design documentation and coordination to suit varied operational and site requirements.
The scope includes works within active rail environments, requiring integration with existing infrastructure, coordination with operational constraints, and adaptation to specialised facilities such as maintenance workshops, equipment rooms, and passenger areas.
Key project involvement includes:
- Bairnsdale Stabling Upgrade
Electrical and mechanical design for new stabling facilities accommodating two three-carriage VLocity trains, including lighting, CCTV, fencing, and a new standalone CER building. - Bendigo Workshop Upgrade – Phase 1
Mechanical and electrical services design supporting workshop upgrades, including ventilation systems and lighting improvements, coordinated with existing structures and overhead crane operations. - Ballarat East Train Maintenance Facility
Building services design for maintenance infrastructure supporting Level 2 servicing of VLocity rollingstock, including ventilation, electrical, water, drainage, and refurbishment of existing facilities. - Sale Station Lighting Upgrade
Electrical design for platform and car park lighting upgrades, including replacement of light poles and improvements to lighting performance to meet operational requirements. - Ouyen PEH, SER & CER Facilities
Delivery of building services for new power and communications infrastructure, including establishment of new electrical supply and low-voltage distribution systems for equipment rooms. - Geelong Station CCTV & Systems Upgrade
Investigation and design services for upgrades to CCTV, passenger information displays, and fare payment systems, delivered in accordance with heritage requirements.
Outcomes
Enhancing Safety, Operations, and Passenger Experience
BSE’s involvement across these projects supports the delivery of safer, more efficient, and better-connected regional rail infrastructure across Victoria.
Targeted upgrades to lighting, ventilation, and electrical systems improve operational functionality and maintenance capability, while enhancements to passenger-facing systems contribute to improved usability and experience.
