Overview
Supporting Regional Transport Accessibility Across Victoria
VicTrack is delivering new and upgraded car parks at railway stations across Victoria as part of the Victorian Government’s Car Parks for Commuters program. The initiative aims to improve accessibility to public transport for regional communities by increasing parking capacity, enhancing safety, and providing improved amenities for commuters.
BSE contributed to the delivery of five station car parks: Gisborne Station with 100 new and upgraded spaces, North Shore Station with 200 spaces, Beaufort Station with 40 spaces, Riddles Creek Station with 50 spaces, and Kyneton Station with 50 spaces. All car parks incorporate lighting, CCTV, landscaping, and wayfinding signage to support safe and functional use.
Our Role
Electrical Design Across Multiple Regional Sites
BSE provided electrical engineering services for the design and delivery of the station car park upgrades across all five locations.
The scope included distribution board alterations, low voltage power reticulation for lighting, and external lighting designed in accordance with AS1158 P category requirements. CCTV systems were delivered with associated passive structured data cabling infrastructure, including outlets for camera coverage. A public address system was also incorporated at Gisborne Station.
Works were coordinated within existing site constraints and integrated with station infrastructure to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable electrical services across each location.
Outcomes
Improved Access and Safety Across Regional Stations
The completed car park upgrades improve commuter access to public transport across regional Victoria, while enhancing safety and usability through upgraded lighting and surveillance systems.
BSE’s electrical design supports the effective operation of lighting and CCTV systems across all sites, contributing to a consistent user experience and reliable infrastructure performance.
The project demonstrates BSE’s capability in delivering coordinated electrical solutions across multiple transport infrastructure sites, supporting government-led initiatives aimed at improving connectivity and access for regional communities.
