Overview
Expanding The Star Casino
The Sovereign Resort project involved an approximately 8,000 square metre expansion of The Star Casino in Pyrmont, enhancing the guest experience through the addition of new dining, bar, gaming, amenity, and back-of-house facilities.
Delivered within the constraints of a live 24/7 casino environment, the project required careful planning and coordination to maintain ongoing operations while construction works were undertaken.
Our Role
Hydraulic and Fire Protection Services in a Live Environment
BSE provided hydraulic and fire protection engineering design services across infrastructure upgrades and main works to Levels 3, 4, and 5.
Our scope included concept design, detailed design, and construction phase services for hydraulic and wet fire systems, ensuring all services were fully integrated with the complex operational requirements of the venue.
Designing and delivering building services within a live casino environment required careful planning, coordination, and staging. Works were undertaken while gaming, hospitality, and entertainment facilities remained operational, requiring services upgrades to be carefully integrated with day-to-day venue operations while maintaining safety, minimising disruption, and ensuring compliance.
