Overview

A Landmark Mixed-Use Development at Green Square

Infinity by Crown is a mixed-use residential and retail development located above Green Square Station in Sydney, forming part of the broader Green Square urban renewal precinct.

The project comprises 427 residential and serviced apartments supported by ground-level retail and hospitality uses, with a landscaped podium incorporating shared amenities including a pool. The building is recognised for its distinctive cascading form and central void, establishing a strong architectural presence within the surrounding urban context.

The development also includes direct integration with the existing rail station, incorporating pedestrian connections along with diversions and upgrades to existing authority services. Its scale, density, and transport connectivity position the project as a key example of transit-oriented development within Sydney.

The building has also gained wider public recognition as a filming location for the television series Married at First Sight, contributing to its visibility as a notable contemporary residential development.

Our Role

Building Services Design for a High-Density Mixed-Use Development

BSE was engaged to deliver mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and vertical transportation design services for the project, supporting both residential and retail components.

Our role included coordination of building services within a complex urban site, including integration with public transport interfaces and existing authority infrastructure.

The design incorporated a centralised water-cooled VRF system to support efficient air conditioning across the development, reducing refrigerant volumes and improving overall system efficiency. An embedded hot water network with centralised gas-fired plant was also implemented to support residential hot water demand.

Building services were developed to align with the architectural form while supporting performance, efficiency, and coordination across a high-density environment.

Outcomes

Integrated Services Supporting a Landmark Urban Development

Infinity by Crown delivers a high-density residential outcome integrated with retail and transport infrastructure, contributing to the broader Green Square precinct.

The building services design supports occupant comfort and operational efficiency while accommodating the complexity of a mixed-use development located above active transport infrastructure.

The project was recognised at the 2021 Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Annual Awards as one of the Best Tall Buildings Under 100 Metres.
