Canberra’s First Build-to-Rent Residential Development
Oaks Canopy is a 14-storey build-to-rent (BTR) residential development in Phillip, ACT, comprising 156 apartments, with a project value of approximately $40 million. As Canberra’s first purpose-built BTR project, it responds to growing demand for high-quality, long-term rental accommodation.
The development incorporates shared resident amenities, including recreational spaces, gym facilities, and communal areas, supporting a connected living environment and long-term tenant retention.
Our Role
Electrical Design for a Build-to-Rent Residential Development
BSE was engaged by Amalgamated Property Group and subsequently novated to Allstar Electrical to provide electrical design services for the project.
Our role focused on delivering a coordinated and compliant electrical design solution aligned with the operational requirements of a large-scale residential development, supporting reliability, safety, and integration with shared building services.

A Benchmark Residential Development for the ACT Market
Oaks Canopy establishes a new benchmark for build-to-rent developments in the ACT, delivering a residential environment that supports long-term tenancy and enhanced amenity.
The electrical systems support the operation of shared facilities and residential spaces, contributing to a consistent and functional living environment.
