Village-Inspired Living in Googong
Miō Googong is a residential development comprising 116 townhouses located within the growing Googong community, approximately 20 minutes from the centre of Canberra.
Developed by Base Developments and designed by DNA Architects, the project delivers a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom homes with floor areas of up to 164 square metres. Residents can choose between light and dark interior finishes, while the development adopts a village-inspired approach, with varying roof pitches, contrasting premium material palettes, and expansive double frontages giving individual blocks their own character.
Communal green spaces throughout the development help connect residents and contribute to the cohesive character of the precinct.
Our Role
Mechanical and Electrical Design from Concept to Completion
BSE provided mechanical and electrical engineering design services for the project from concept and development through to construction and certification.
As part of the mechanical design, the team undertook CFD modelling for the car park ventilation system. This formed the basis of a performance-based design solution that moved beyond a conventional ventilation approach. The completed system utilises carbon monoxide monitoring to control ventilation fan operation based on demand, helping maintain effective ventilation while supporting improved energy efficiency.

The completed development delivers a diverse range of housing options within a carefully considered residential community setting.
The project was recognised by the industry when it was named winner of the Apartments and Units up to 3 Storeys category at the Master Builders and Asset Construction Hire Excellence Awards 2026. The award was received by Milin Builders and Base Developments.
