Overview

Elevated Living in Denman Prospect

The Borough is a residential development located in Denman Prospect, one of Canberra’s fastest-growing communities within the Molonglo Valley.

Designed by DKO Architecture, Stage 1 comprises two residential buildings, The Brixton and The Junction, delivering a total of 162 apartments connected via a shared underground car park.

Located close to Denman Village Shops and Evelyn Scott School, the development provides residents with convenient access to everyday amenities while remaining just 15 minutes from Canberra’s city centre.

The development incorporates a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments. The Brixton features generous floor plans averaging approximately 90 square metres, while a key design feature across the development is the inclusion of winter gardens. These flexible spaces can be adapted as home offices, additional bedrooms, gyms, or storage areas depending on residents’ needs.

Our Role

Building Services Design from Concept to Construction

BSE was engaged by Elevated to provide electrical, mechanical, and lighting engineering design services for Stage 1 of the development.

Our team delivered comprehensive engineering design services from concept through to construction.

As part of the project, BSE undertook Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and reporting for the underground car park and condenser farms to demonstrate compliance with performance requirements. The team also prepared Electrical Potential Rise (EPR) reports as part of the electrical design scope.

Outcomes

Supporting a Growing Community

The Borough delivers contemporary apartment living within the growing Denman Prospect community.

A key feature of the development is the inclusion of flexible winter garden spaces, allowing residents to adapt their homes to suit changing needs, whether as a home office, gym, additional bedroom, or storage area. Combined with generous apartment layouts and convenient access to local amenities, the project provides a range of living options suited to different lifestyles and household requirements.

The quality of the development was recognised by the industry when The Borough Stage 1 was named Apartment Project of the Year 2026 at the Master Builders and Asset Construction Hire Excellence Awards, with the award received by builder Elevated.

“We are pleased to have worked with Elevated and the wider project team to deliver The Borough Stage 1. The project presented some interesting engineering considerations, particularly around the shared underground car park, and it was great for our team to be involved in bringing these elements together. Congratulations to everyone involved on the project’s recognition at this year’s awards, and we look forward to continuing our partnership as Stage 2 progresses.”
– Brendon Newham, Director – ACT

BSE is proud to have contributed to the delivery of The Borough Stage 1 and looks forward to continuing our partnership with Elevated as the precinct expands through Stage 2, which will introduce three additional buildings and a further 208 apartments.
