GroundUp Studio Expands into New South Wales
GroundUp Studio Alexandria marks the brand’s first location in New South Wales, expanding beyond its existing network of studios in the ACT.
Part of Viva Leisure, GroundUp Studio specialises in reformer Pilates, yoga, and barre classes. The brand’s studios are designed to provide welcoming spaces where members can work out, unwind, and recharge, supporting both physical and mental wellbeing through a holistic fitness experience.
Located at 372-376 Botany Road, Beaconsfield, the new studio extends the GroundUp Studio offering into the Sydney market.
Our Role
Building Services Design for a Warm Shell Fit-Out
BSE was engaged by Mont Projects to provide mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and hydraulic engineering design services for the fit-out of the new studio.
The warm shell tenancy required comprehensive electrical design, including new heat panels, lighting layouts, emergency lighting configurations, power distribution plans, and maximum demand calculations to assess the need for a sub-mains upgrade.
The scope also included the introduction of a new kitchenette incorporating a Zip HydroTap, together with testing and calculations to confirm adequate heating, ventilation, and fresh air circulation throughout the space.

Supporting GroundUp Studio's NSW Expansion
The completed studio provides GroundUp Studio with its first location in New South Wales, supporting the brand’s expansion beyond the ACT.
Designed to accommodate reformer Pilates, yoga, and barre classes, the facility extends GroundUp Studio’s established approach to creating welcoming spaces where members can work out, unwind, and recharge.
