Supporting the Expansion of a Global Fitness Brand in Australia
Planet Fitness is one of the largest and fastest-growing fitness brands globally, recognised for its “Judgement Free Zone” philosophy and accessible, high-volume gym environments. Since entering the Australian market in 2019, the brand has expanded its presence through a network of 24/7 fitness centres designed to deliver a consistent member experience and operational efficiency across all locations.
BSE has delivered building services for more than 20 Planet Fitness locations across Australia, with sites in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia. These facilities are designed to support high member volumes while maintaining comfort, reliability, and consistency with the Planet Fitness operating model.
Reflecting on the brand’s expansion into Australia, Ray Miolla, Chief Development Officer at Planet Fitness, stated:

Our Role
Building Services Delivery Across a National Rollout Program
BSE has provided building services engineering consultancy across electrical, mechanical, fire protection, and hydraulic systems for multiple Planet Fitness locations nationwide.
Our involvement supports the delivery of new facilities as part of an ongoing national rollout program., with scope tailored to the requirements of individual sites.
A key aspect of the engagement has been the application of lessons learned across successive projects, enabling refinement of design approaches, improved coordination, and more efficient delivery outcomes. This iterative process supports a standardised experience across multiple locations while accommodating variations in tenancy layouts and site constraints.
