Overview
Delivering a World-Class Cultural Destination in Doha
The National Museum of Qatar is a globally significant cultural development, designed to celebrate the country’s heritage, identity, and future through a highly immersive visitor experience.
The $570 million project includes 8,000 square metres of permanent gallery space, 2,000 square metres of temporary exhibition space, a 220-seat auditorium, a food forum, broadcast facilities, hospitality venues, and a range of public and VIP spaces.
Developed with a strong architectural vision and highly curated interiors, the museum brings together exhibition, hospitality, and public functions within a unified and complex built environment.

Our Role
Coordinated Engineering Delivery Across Complex Architectural and Exhibition Spaces
BSE provided mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire protection, audio visual, and communications engineering services across the project, alongside ESD consulting and computational modelling.
A key aspect of our role involved coordinating building services systems within highly constrained and architecturally complex environments, ensuring alignment between base building infrastructure and detailed interior spaces.
This included the integration of specialised systems to support galleries, hospitality, and public areas, as well as the implementation of a fire protection misting system to achieve required safety outcomes while maintaining the architectural intent.
Our work also supported the delivery of multiple hospitality venues, including three restaurants, as well as retail spaces within the development.

Outcomes
Integrated Systems Supporting Performance, Sustainability, and Visitor Experience
BSE contributed to the delivery of a fully integrated building services solution that supports the operational performance and functionality of the museum across all public and back-of-house areas.
Through coordinated design and delivery, systems were implemented to meet the demanding requirements of a large-scale cultural facility, ensuring comfort, safety, and reliability for visitors and staff.
Our involvement also supported the project in achieving LEED Gold certification, reflecting a strong focus on environmental performance alongside architectural and experiential outcomes.
The National Museum of Qatar stands as a landmark international project, with building services carefully integrated to support both its technical complexity and its role as a cultural destination.
