Overview

Upgrades Across Two Regional School Campuses

As part of the NSW Government’s program to upgrade essential education infrastructure, Millthorpe and Bletchington Public Schools in Orange underwent redevelopment works to provide modern teaching facilities and support growing community needs.

At Millthorpe Public School, works included construction of a new two-storey learning hub, refurbishment of existing learning spaces, and removal of demountable buildings.

At Bletchington Public School, the project delivered a new two-storey learning hub with flexible learning spaces, upgrades to the school hall, refurbishment of existing classrooms, and supporting facility improvements.

Both projects were delivered concurrently on live school sites, requiring careful staging to maintain ongoing operations and minimise disruption to students and staff.

Our Role

Building Services Delivery Across Concurrent School Projects

BSE provided mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire protection, and sustainability services across both school upgrades.

The projects incorporated Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) principles, supported by full 3D coordination in Revit, improving construction efficiency and coordination across multiple buildings and sites.

Delivery required careful staging to ensure the schools remained operational throughout construction, maintaining safe and functional learning environments during all phases of the works.

Simultaneous delivery of both projects required coordinated design management and resource planning to support programme alignment and timely completion.

Outcomes

Modern Learning Facilities Delivered with Minimal Disruption

The completed upgrades deliver contemporary learning environments and improved school facilities, supporting current and future student needs across both campuses.

New and refurbished buildings provide flexible teaching spaces, upgraded amenities, and improved functionality for staff and students.

Staged construction enabled the schools to continue operating throughout delivery, maintaining continuity of education while works were undertaken.

The coordinated delivery across both sites supported efficient implementation and consistent outcomes across the programme.
