Expanding and Upgrading a Primary School Campus in Mona Vale
The $32 million upgrade of Mona Vale Public School delivered a significant expansion and refurbishment of the existing campus to support growing student and staff requirements.
The project included construction of a new three-storey building providing additional administration and learning spaces, as well as a new Performing Arts Centre designed for both school and community use. Works also included refurbishment and upgrades to six existing buildings across the site.
The development provides upgraded teaching spaces and core facilities, additional permanent classrooms, new staff and administration areas, and improved accessibility across the campus.
Our Role
Building Services Delivery with BIM and DfMA Integration
BSE was engaged to provide mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire protection, sustainability, and BIM services across the project.
Key to project delivery was early engagement with contractors, followed by novation to complete design documentation, supported by full 3D coordination in Revit.
The project also incorporated Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) strategies, including standardisation of learning areas to support efficient delivery and consistency across the development.

The completed project delivers modern, flexible learning environments alongside upgraded core facilities and staff areas, supporting the evolving needs of the school community.
The integration of new and refurbished buildings provides a cohesive campus outcome, improving functionality, accessibility, and overall usability of the school.
The Performing Arts Centre provides a shared facility for both school and community use, extending the value of the development beyond the immediate student population.
