Overview
A Workspace Designed for Connection
LinkedIn’s Sydney office fit-out comprised approximately 3,600 square metres across two levels, creating a productive, professional, and engaging workplace environment in the heart of Sydney.
Developed around an Australian-themed design concept, the workplace incorporated a range of amenities and collaborative spaces including an indoor BBQ, standing desks, wellness facilities, and a purpose-built cinema and live sports venue used for conferences and company-wide events.
As a predominantly sales-oriented workplace, the design sought to encourage interaction between colleagues within and across teams, creating opportunities for both formal collaboration and informal discussions throughout the office.
Our Role
Building Services Design for a Workplace Fit-Out
BSE provided mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fire protection engineering design services for the fit-out.
Working closely with the appointed design team, our role included assessing the existing building services infrastructure and identifying opportunities to retain and reuse existing fit-out and base building services wherever appropriate.
The design was undertaken with careful consideration of the existing building, maximising the use of available infrastructure while accommodating the requirements of the new workplace environment. Building services were integrated across a range of workspaces, meeting areas, staff facilities, and event spaces throughout the fit-out.
Outcomes
A Professional and Engaging Workplace
The completed fit-out delivered a workplace that balanced professionalism with flexibility, creating an environment that supports collaboration, communication, and day-to-day operations.
The combination of workspaces, meeting areas, social amenities, and event facilities provides employees with a variety of settings suited to different ways of working while reinforcing LinkedIn’s culture of connection.
